It’s Stog o’Clock, and this time, I check out the Nomad C-276 in the Robusto size. This 5×50 box-pressed cigar features an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper concealing all Nicaraguan tobaccos including two varieties of ligero. It has a plain, unappealing label, but the wrapper leaf is gorgeous and oily.
On the cold draw, I pick up some cedar and berry flavor. The wrapper produces a chocolate manure aroma, while I smell berry out of the foot. Once lit, dark chocolate and black pepper mix with dried fruit on the draw. Through the nose, I get spicy black pepper with espresso. The finish offers more chocolate and espresso alongside some earth.
The first third gets me to twenty minutes. On the draw, I pick up buttery cocoa with black pepper and spicy earth. Through the nose, creamy cedar melts with sweet toast and a slightly spicy hazelnut. Dried cherry dominates the finish with underlying espresso. Strength and body settle in at the medium-to-full mark.
Forty minutes in, the second third comes to a close. Creamy, buttery cocoa delights on the draw complimented by a wonderful salted caramel and pretzel mix. More caramel comes through the retro-hale with hazelnut and sweet leather. On the finish, dried cherry continues to dominate on top of some nutty earth and black pepper spice. There is no change to strength or body.
The final third gets me to an hour and a half. On the draw, I get a blast of black pepper with cocoa and leathery earth. Through the nose, I pick up more caramel and hazelnut alongside a salty toast. I’m treated to more dried cherry on the finish with pretzel and meaty oak. Both strength and body jump to the full mark.
The Nomad C-276 is one of the best cigars I’ve smoked this year. It’s extremely complex with deep, bold flavors that keep you wanting more. Construction is top notch with great smoke output and a perfect burn. This is a must try cigar worthy of a box purchase. It truly blew me away, and I highly recommend it!
