Cigar Review | Jas Sum Kral Red Knight Robusto

It’s Stog o’Clock, and this time, I check out the Jas Sum Kral Red Knight Robusto. This 5×50 cigar appears to be rolled perfectly with a pigtail cap and closed foot. It features an Ecuadorian Habano Light Clario wrapper with Mexican San Andres and Jalapa Seco binders securing top-secret fillers. It’s a classy looking cigar to say the least.

The cold draw offers a light damp tobacco flavor. The wrapper produces a potent barnyard and leather aroma. Once lit, I’m hit with black pepper spice, cocoa, and leather. Through the nose, I pick up sweet toast on top of nutty earth. The finish gives me a blast of red pepper and leather alongside coffee.

After thirty minutes, the first third closes out. On the draw, I pick up salty leather with black pepper and coffee. Through the nose, a creamy Nutella-esque flavor comes through on top of cinnamon. The finish gives me sweet coffee with toast and spicy cedar. Strength and body settle in at the medium-to-full mark.

The second third gets me to fifty-five minutes. Black pepper explodes on the draw in addition to more salty leather. The retro-hale consists of vegetal earth and sweet vanilla. On the finish, a tobacco core blends with more coffee and a damp cedar. There is no change to strength or body.

The final third comes to a close at one hour and twenty-five minutes. I pick up more black pepper and leather on the draw complimented by cinnamon. Through the nose, I’m hit with spicy earth and toast. The finish offers more coffee with leather and spicy red pepper. Strength and body finish out at the medium-to-full mark.

The Jas Sum Kral Red Knight is a wonderful smoke, and the Robusto is a great vessel for this blend. It offers a great deal of complexity with delicious flavors that keep you coming back for more. Construction is absolutely perfect. I highly recommend this cigar and can’t wait to try future offerings from this company.
