Cigar Review | Gurkha East India Classic: Havana Blend

The East India Classic: Havana Blend is a cigar made by Gurkha that retails for $8.00.

The Gurkha website describes the cigar as follows:

“The Classic Cigar: Havana Blend has been perfected using a proprietary binder and filler with twenty different tweakings of the blend to get it just right. With a San Andres Wrapper, The Classic Cigar: Havana Blend is a box-pressed, medium body, full flavor cigar including earthy, nutty undertones made in Nicaragua. โ€œAfter a few years of searching for the right wrapper and combination of tobaccos, we created this beautiful San Andres wrapped Nicaraguan masterpiece. We are very proud to unveil it as our best creation from the East India Trading Company yet. A cigar worthy of its name: A true Classic,โ€ said Juan Lopez, National Sales Director and part of the East India blending team.”

Tastes and Flavor

White pepper in background but builds on the finish. Has some floral tastes and flavors. There is also chocolate and coffee. The cigar is a medium-plus bodied smoke with good smoke output. The cigar builds up the coffee flavor and the body drops down to medium. It has great complexity and is slow burning that continues with complexity throughout.

That’s the cinnamon roll/bun cap ๐Ÿ˜‰ same as the Feral Flying Pig, looks like the smoke production is similar too…I call them perfectos too. Love that toothy San Andres! This Classic Havana Blend is probably better than Gurkha’s $1000 HMR! Great review!

Thanks Charlie. Now I know what to call that cap. I have to agree that this is one of the better Gurkha’s. I can put this and the Ghost in my rotation all day!

I personally would never spend my $ on an Gurkha but after your review I might swoop one up!
