This week we take a look at the Dunhill Aged Romanas. Dunhill pays great attention to detail and construction. The cigar’s band has been redesigned to blue from a dark black colour. The change of the colour suits the Dunhill brand better, and creates an exciting contrast to the banana yellow wrapper of the Aged cigar. As always with Dunhill, the fit and finish of these cigars is great. The bands are nicely embossed and remove easily.
Dunhill Aged Romanas (Short Robusto)
Wrapper: Connecticut Shade Natural
Origin: Dominican Republic
Size: 4.5 X 50
Dimensions, Zest, Flavors:
Featuring a cool Connecticut wrapper that is a very strong mustard color, the cigar has virtually no aroma. The draw and the taste were both very light, and I found a very woody taste of aged tobacco. There is a cool spice and a cedar sweetness which would not overwhelm a beginner cigar smoker.
Draw, Smoke output, and Finish:
The Dunhill Aged has a light draw, with great smoke output, but the flavours lacked the intensity necessary to keep me interested.
Strength, Vim, and Vigor:
The cigar is fermented to the point of being extremely mild. The Dunhill Aged is mild to medium in body and very mild in strength.
Duration and Value:
Being only 4.5 inches long, this cigar is not a lengthy affair. The combination of mild flavor, moderate smoking time and a short finish on the tongue, as compared with the price of $5.75, prevent this from being a top value choice for the experienced cigar smoker.
Did I enjoy?
Yes, but the flavors were too mild for my preference. I think this is a great entry level cigar for someone new to cigar smoking.
