Cigar Review | Angels Anvil 2016 Today is another great day in my neighborhood. The sun is shining and I am in a good mood. Today we will be smoking and reviewing the Angels Anvil 2016 by Crowned Heads. This cigar is a limited edition cigar created by Crowned Heads owner John Huber and distributed through retailers who are members of the Tobacconist Association of American (TAA).
The TAA is an organization of approximately 80 retailers who meet each year to discuss issues facing the cigar industry and also to hold a private trade show with select manufacturers. In recent years, those companies have created special cigars exclusive to members of the TAA. The story of the angel’s anvil mirrors John Hubers time at CAO and his transition to his own company Crowned Head. As the legend is told, there was an angel who had fallen from heaven to earth. Unlike the other fallen angels, he was alone and lost. Instead of being content, he walked the countryside until he found a blacksmith who gave him a hammer and an anvil. The blacksmith told him, “with these tools, you will forge your new wings. With the new wings, you will find your way home”. CAO, was forced to move from Nashville to Richmond, Va. in order to become part of the General Cigar Co. after the completion of the merger between Swedish Match and Scandinavian Tobacco Group. Huber and Mike Conder, another former CAO employee, started Crowned Heads in 2011.
