Presentation
The cigar makes an excellent presentation. Immediately, you notice the quality of the construction. The wrapper has a few light veins and light brown color. You can’t help but see the beautiful matte finish and feel. Though small, the Short Story feels like a quality cigar in your hand. The sleek Perfecto shape is good looking and lights easily.
From the first few puffs, it delivers a pleasant medium tobacco taste with tinges of brown sugar and welcoming white pepper. The finish is medium to long making the smoke easy to retrohale. The cigar has voluminous smoke output. As the cigar puts out plumes of smoke, the aroma of the room note is of a classic cigar.
The flavors remain consistent and over time the pepper increases to strong black pepper. The pepper is not overwhelming and doesn’t overshadow the notes of earth and the tobacco core. Dominican cigars sometimes have a metallic taste which is caused by the mineral content of the soil. Such is not the case with the Short Story. Strong mineral flavors can disrupt the balance of a Dominican cigar. In the case of the Arturo Fuente Hemingway, the characteristics remain balanced as it delivers medium strength and body.
Smoking Time: 40-50 minutes
As the cigar nears its end, the brown sugar fades into a pleasant bread yeast-like flavor. The Arturo Fuente Short Story never overheated or suffered from bitter flavors. During the entire smoking journey, the cigar had an even burn, and no touch-ups were required. Many cigar reviewers and sites describe smoking this cigar as a friendly and satisfying experience. One of the many good things about this cigar is that it lives up to the hype.
